Kiss Resist Technique

Not as daunting as you might think you just need the right stamps :)

You will need
Glossy card
Dye ink
Versamark
1 patterned line stamp
1 mainly solid shadow type stamp

Ink up the detailed stamp with the coloured dye ink and the solid stamp with the versamark ink, now press the two together this will transfer the dye ink onto the solid stamp, next stamp the solid stamp onto the glossy card and allow to dry ( if doing this on regular card stock now is the time to emboss with clear embossing powder )

Now you can add ink to the background and wipe off the resist area

If you chooses to use a text stamp remember it will stamp out in reverse.

Recycled bag

Here's the finished bag I have been making from recycled carrier bags . I think I must have started cutting the strips narrower as it started going in at the top so instead of being a tote bag it's now a hand bag. I had one of those eureka moments while sleeping on how to make the handle lol I hope you will all carry on recycling and putting things that would other wise be dicarded to good use as we have seen some clever ideas this last month :)
It actually measures 10" at the base and 9/12 to the top of the handle just enough pace for a purse, phone, note book , pen and lippy

Thursday 27 October 2011

Here we are at the last week of re/up cycling and it has been a challenging month and even though it's my choice I have found this one the hardest. So this week it's any found object, be it natural or man made .
No really much crafting here more an as semblance of objects flower made from a beer can painted with inca paint a broken pot from the garden some lichen and seed heads found on a walk with a stone with a hole from my pot of stones and some autumn foliage from the garden and all stuck with a hot glue gun
I left it on the windowsill as it looked quiet at home there :)
Zoe and Neet have both come up makes this week me up with some great creations

What's in your bedroom

Well we are still recycling things from around the house at Just For Fun so what can you up-cycle from your boudoir :)  or sewing box.Well I had lots of ideas dress up a perfume bottle decoupage an old handbag with some of the pages I cut out of the book, jazz up a pair canvas shoes but ..................... when your mojo goes on holiday with out you all these things seemed so daunting I would love to see if you can make them come to life for me :) so my creation for this week is very simple I coloured some air dry clay with wild plum AI and formed it to make a frame for a mirror I took out of an old eye make-up case and to hang it I've use those annoying bits of ribbon they put on the shoulder of garment, a great source of free narrow ribbon
You must check out what Zoe and Neet have made and Neets guest designer Hazel all stunning pieces
Thank you for stopping by and hope you will find time to join us this week

Stamping with bleach

You know how it is your head is full of ideas yet you you pick up paper and ink you go dhuuuur where do I start and what ever you do just looks pants and I talking the navy blue school sort :(
So with the mojo on holiday I thought I'd share with you a tag I made for a swap a couple of weeks ago as it has now been received
I did a wrinkle free background with wild honey and spun sugar DI stains and then used a foam stamp with bleach, then stamped my main images with the wild honey DI's, punched a scollaped boarder and used the waste to create some  extra detail
Hope you like this simple tag and thanks for stopping by :)

Recycling in the Kitchen Challenge at JFF

Well it looks like I took you all by surprise last week but hope you agree we did see some imaginative recycling of different paper
This week it's all in the kitchen, all those free containers, tins and plastic, will you be brave enough to make your own stamp using vegetables or a cork or maybe a piece of polystyrene the possibilities are endless remember Neets bag from a milk carton. So with all these ideas why did I do a tag I hear you ask, well I have used a cereal box Shreddies nice and white on the inside :) and takes ink beautifully ( I often use cereal boxes for die cutting ) and then what I haven't tried before the inner sleeve that holds the cereal I used a nestabilities cut out 4 circles and inked with AI 's I was very pleased at how it held it's shape when crumpled :) The back ground is brayed through a piece of netting from some lemons just love how random it is and to finish off some onion skin and the handle of a carrier bag

Last but not least a bag I'm still working on made out carrier bags simply cut off the bottom and then into strips loop them together to form your yarn and crochet away :)

Zoe and Neet have both come up with something completely different :)
Have fun and thinking out of the box is a must for this one so put the little grey cells to work

Bewitching night

Phew I have finally made time to create something for a challenge, there are so many great challenges I've missed doing and I've only caught the the Dragons dream by the skin of my teeth and it's anything but a card at Fashionable Stamping and forgettting Grudgy Monday is back with a Tim Holtz Halloween theme
I've used 2 stamps from Tim Holtz the Witch from Grunge Gallery art stamps and the bats unknown.
I made a spritz with weathered wood and blush PP, masked the moon and witch and sprayed the background with the mixture and Crafty Notions Poppy.Oh yes and there's some holographic embossing powder call Spellbinder on the dancing flames
I don't think this red sky means Shepard's delight lol

A new month at Just for Fun

I did enjoy looking at all the creation for anything but a card, you did us proud at Just for Fun last week :)
This month it my turn to choose the theme I have chosen to recycle any and everything from around the home starting with paper no not the stroke able kind the stuff you would throw away books magazines brochures there's just so much you can do with it all. So this week I've done 2 pieces the first something I've been wanting to do for ages and that's turn a book into a box
I think this will make a perfect gift box, after cutting out the center I have lined it with some stamped paper,  for the out side I have simply use the inka paints boy do they give great coverage :) I have left open space on the cover so I can add something not sure what yet as I haven't decided who will get this for Christmas .
Then at the weekend I saw this stunning image in the paper and thought that would look good on a tag so I used one of the pages stuck it to a tag and coloured with distress satins

I know some of you are going to really enjoy this challenge but if you want more ideas of what you can do then check out the serendipity turorial and what my partners in crime Zoe and Neet have come up with :)
